YWCA is excited to have been selected for the GECU Foundation’s Matching May Campaign in the Inclusion category. We are raising $12,000 for swim equity, which will be matched dollar for dollar by the GECU Foundation. That’s $24,000 to give El Paso kids this life-saving skill.

HOW WILL THE FUNDS BE USED TO FURTHER PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT?

The funds will be used to support Social Equity and Racial Justice trainings for YWCA programs and community collaborators, as well as for scholarships for families to access youth swim lessons in an effort to bring racial equity to pediatric drowning prevention. By removing barriers of access we can increase safety and come a step closer to racial equity for El Paso families.
