Dear Friends,

Thank you for your continued support of YWCA El Paso del Norte Region. The 2023 Annual Report highlights the efforts and achievements of our dedicated staff, Board of Directors, volunteers, and stakeholders in service to the El Paso del Norte Region.

Over the past few years, we have made significant investments to improve our facilities and will continue to do so for years to come. Our Shirley Leavell branch underwent renovations and reopened during the summer of 2023, and in the final two months of the fiscal year, enrolled almost 800 new members! This opening came with newly remodeled amenities such as our Mabee Academy of Early Learning, gym, and pool, as well as office spaces for our employees. This is the first of our branches to be remodeled, and there are plans and the majority of funding in place to renovate the Joyce Jaynes Branch in central and the Dorothy Woodley Hunt branch in the Lower Valley through capital projects starting in fiscal year 2024.

We continued to hold our signature events such as the annual Womenʼs Luncheon and Walk-a-Mile in Her Shoes to engage businesses and individuals throughout the El Paso Region.

The long standing support of these events echoes the relationship between community members and our mission. In addition to these events, we introduced a Juneteenth Cultural Celebration in collaboration with The Great Khalid Foundation to celebrate Black art and culture. We look forward to continuing these traditions to celebrate and support endeavors at YWCA.

As we move forward together, we are excited to grow and spread the mission of YWCA throughout the region. We will continuously identify and evolve to meet the changing needs of our community, and look forward to your support as we work to secure a continuously brighter future for El Paso.

Sincerely,

Sereka Barlow
